New Forest Wildlife Park hosts "Heartbeats of the Forest" Half-Term Event and Celebrates the Arrival of New Giant Otter Cubs

This half-term, the New Forest Wildlife Park is set to captivate families with its special event, "Heartbeats of the Forest," alongside celebrating the significant success of its conservation efforts with the announcement of four new giant otter cub births.

The "Heartbeats of the Forest" event is designed to engage visitors in the vital work of wildlife conservation, showcasing the thriving lives nurtured within the park and highlighting the park’s successful breeding programmes. The event features a fun trail where families can discover the animals that have been born at the park, showcasing the attraction’s commitment to preserving the heartbeats of the forest. This interactive experience aims to educate and inspire, fostering a deeper connection between visitors and the natural world.

Conservation underpins all activities at New Forest Wildlife Park, aligning with the global efforts of organisations such as the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA). These organisations provide frameworks and guidelines that help zoos and wildlife parks make informed decisions on species conservation, focusing on animals that offer high conservation or educational value.

New Forest Wildlife Park specialises in species endemic to the British Isles, as well as those that once roamed these lands, reflecting the park's dedication to native wildlife and those requiring protection. The birth of a giant otter cub to parents Simuni and Ibera on Christmas day represents a beacon of hope for conservationists and animal lovers alike.

The park invites everyone to join them from the 10th -18th February to celebrate these achievements. Trail costs are just £1.50 and includes a prize. Normal admission applies.
