FAQs

How long does the visit last?

Generally school groups arrive between 10-10.30 a.m. and leave between 2-2.30 p.m. These timings are flexible.

Is there somewhere we can have lunch?

Yes, Depending on the type of booking (Gold option, Silver option), your group will be allocated our Education Room for the visit, and the children may eat packed lunches there. For the Bronze self-guided option, there is a picnic area the children can use on fine days, or alternatively they may eat lunch in the Woodland Bakehouse restaurant.

Where are the toilets?

There are toilets located at the entrance to the park, by the restaurant. Please note that there are no toilets inside the park and so teachers should plan rest breaks accordingly for their groups.

How can we pay?

You can pay on the day or we can invoice after your visit.

Will a guide be with us for the duration of the visit?

This depends on the tour option you choose. For the Gold option, a guide will be with you for the duration of the visit, except at lunch time. For the Silver visit, a guide will be with you at the start of the visit for a short presentation. The Bronze option is self-guided, with appropriate information from the Teachers’ Pack. Please note that our friendly and knowledgeable keepers are also on hand around the park to answer your questions.

Does the guide have full charge of the tour and any classroom sessions?

Yes the guide leads the tour and classroom sessions but the teachers are ultimately responsible for the children.
